Brian Hopper played his youth hockey at Mid-Fairfield where he played alongside future NHL and Olympic star Jonathan Quick and won two State Championships and a New England Regional Championship. Brian then moved on to play for the Snapple Express at the Pee-Wee World Championships in Quebec where he won the Berneis Tournament.
Hopper attended high school at Notre Dame Fairfield where he captained both the hockey and lacrosse team in his Senior season. Upon graduating from NDF, Brian played a year of Juniors for the CT Wolfpack, before going on to play Div 3 hockey and lacrosse for Saint Michael’s College.
Brian’s coaching career started at age 12 when he served as an assistant for the Southern Mite house league. Over the next 6 seasons, he served as an assistant coach for levels ranging from Mite house to Peewee travel. Immediately after graduating from Saint Michael’s, Brian returned to Southern as a head coach. Over the past 5 seasons Brian has served as head coach for travel teams at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. This year he will again return as Head Coach for the Midget Open (U18) Maroon team.
