Keith started skating at the age of 3. He then started playing youth hockey in West Haven where he was part of multiple championship teams. He spent a couple summers playing AAA hockey throughout New England and parts of Canada. He also played on a couple Nutmeg State game teams and was even selected as part of the 1989-90 Team Connecticut Peewee team with future NHLers Chris Drury and Chris Clark.
After one varsity year at Notre Dame of Fairfield, Keith returned to his hometown to play for West Haven High School. In his senior year, the Blue Devils would enjoy one of their most successful seasons in their history with a record of 21-2-1 culminating with a Division I state championship. He then moved on to play at Assumption College and continued to play in local senior leagues until recent years.
Keith began coaching West Haven youth hockey in the early 90's. After a long hiatus, he returned to coaching in 2011 when his kids started playing in the Learn to Play Hockey program in Milford. He is a certified Level 4 USA Hockey coach who has been a part of coaching staffs in SCYH at the mite, squirt and peewee levels for the past four years.
He continues to live in West Haven where he and his wife, Janice, are raising their two daughters, Caitlin and Ashley.
