Amy began her hockey career at the age of 7 right here in Milford with Southern CT Youth Hockey. There was no turning back while continuing to make her mark as one of the few girls playing youth hockey in the state of CT and laying the groundwork for girls youth hockey programs developing across the nation.
Continuing her love of the sport, dedication, and hard work, Amy landed at Boston College to play for the Eagles Women’s Ice Hockey team all 4 years of her college career. Under the guidance of Coach Tom O’Malley, Amy and the BC Eagles skated their way to being AWHCA National Champions during her sophomore year. She led the BC Eagles as a Captain her senior year while wrapping up her college career leading in assists.
Amy’s coaching career began when she was an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University during the very first 2 seasons of the SHU ECAC Women’s Ice Hockey program. In 2006, she continued her coaching when joining the coaching ranks for Milford Learn-To-Play- Hockey Clinic and House Program for 6 years. Amy then ventured onto the bench as an assistant coach of SCYH Mite A team in 2012 alongside Head Coach Erik Roos. She then brought her assistance coach position to SCYH Squirt A in 2013 and SCYH Pee Wee A1 in 2014. Amy is currently starting her second season as the head coach of the SCYH Girls U14 team.
Outside of hockey, Amy has been a coach for Girls’ Softball in Milford International Little League. Professionally, she has been an elementary school teacher for 20 years.
Amy lives in Milford with her husband and her two children.
