Welcome to the Home of Southern CT STARS Hockey

The objective of The Southern Connecticut Youth Hockey Organization
is to provide a well organized and supervised youth ice hockey program,
offering opportunities to children of all levels of skill and proficiency.

MILFORD, CT – The Southern CT Stars Youth Hockey organization has reached an agreement with the Milford Ice Arena to keep the local youth hockey in town for the next 10 years.

The Milford Ice Arena was recently purchased by the Black Bear Group out of Maryland and day to day operations are being run by Manager, Paul Shimko.

“The new ownership group is extremely happy to continue the strong partnership with the Southern Stars youth organization,” manager Paul Shimko said. “This agreement allows both the Stars and our staff grow together for the next 10 seasons.”

The Southern Stars will continue to offer youth hockey for all boys and girls from Mites to Midgets as well as a 14U and 19U Girls program.

“We are very excited about this new agreement,” Stars President Steve Hetherman said. “The board has set on a path of following USA Hockey and player development. We have partnered with DC Skills and Fairfield Ice Academy and this additional training has helped our kids become better hockey players while having fun. Now securing our partnership with the Milford Ice Arena, we can continue to grow and strengthen our brand. The future just got brighter for all the Southern Stars.”

Parent Conduct

Keeping it real

With the start of 2018-2019 hockey season underway, the SCYH BOD would like to wish everyone a safe and fun experience. The season can seem like a long stretch at times and over the course of the next several months, there will be occasions when emotions can run high.

If there comes a time during the season where you need to voice a concern, please remember that all inquiries must start and end with the coaching staff. The coach will initiate communication with the appropriate person on the BOD, to begin working on a resolution.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and remember:

This is the time in the kids lives to have fun and enjoy the experience.

Please do not be the parent this sign was made for!

Enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing you around the rink.
